Oh Fudge!

Here we are only a couple days from Christmas and we are making and baking away feverishly.
Today Brett and I made Rocky Road fudge. If you're lucky and have been really good, you might get some!

I give thanks for thisThanksgiving

This Thanksgiving our family traveled to Oklahoma with my parents, Josh, and Gabe with his family. We stayed in a beautiful rented cabin in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. We had so much fun, great meals and now have some great memories too. Here are some of the photos from our holiday trip.

November Pleasures

Today I took pleasure in an annual event that I can really only do I because I live where it is so lovely and warm, plant my winter pansies. I love all the colors they come in, and their friendly faces. They smile at me and my passing neighbors all winter long. Aren't they wonderful?

Fall Fun

What adult doesn't remember doing this as a kid? We have all been there. We all had good laughs and it was truly the only day of the entire year that we enjoyed our neighbor's nasty cottonwood tree.

Air Show Adventure

Jeff and the boys all went to the airshow at Allience Airport at the end of last month. They all come back with smiles slapped on their faces, big appetites and great stories.

fall portraits

Today was the definition of fall weather in North Texas. 75 degrees, light breeze and some beautiful fall colors on the trees. We decided to head to our favorite botanical garden park to capture the day with some photos. Brett didn't know that really I wanted to capture photos of him before his big front teeth come in and he no longer looks little. We had a wonderful time and got some great photos to boot!
(my favorite was one that he chose last minute to pose on a bench for me, his hand has a Snoopy stamp on it. Gotta love it!)

Halloween

Brett has finally started really getting into the spirit of Halloween. Following in his father's footsteps I think. This year he dressed as Washington Irving's character of the Headless Horseman. We did up the gore factor which he just loved! Here are the before trick-or-treat photos.

Mighty Tigers

This is the 4th season that Brett is playing soccer for what is now the Mighty Tigers. He loves the game and is getting better every time he steps out on the field. His coach always comments on how great he sports the sweatband.

The Towel

This is the towel that I received as a baby gift from my mom when I was going to have Brett. It now hangs to his knees not the floor and the hood doesn't cover his whole face like it used to. The towel is one of those pieces that I use to measure how big he is getting over the years. I will be sad the day that he can't use it any longer because it will mean that he is all grown up.

Apple Pickin'

We got to pick apples at the orchard on our vacation in Kansas.

Ahh Kansas

One of my favorite places in Kansas... the Flint Hills. This was on our way from Dallas to Lawrence.

Keepin' it simple

Yeah, it was shepherd's pie for dinner. It has it all veggies, meat, cheese and best of all potatoes.
This was after I took my serving. I will post again after Jeff has his and see if he liked it. (I didn't get to it before it got put in the fridge for leftovers but there was only half left. Success!)

First Photos

Kozmo one of my favorite reasons for getting out of bed every morning. Everyday he makes me laugh and today it was when he was playing all alone with his new octopus toy that I made for him. What a face!
